THE BACKGROUND

The Navan Grads (formerly Cumberland Grads) – navangrads.com – are a Junior A hockey team located in Navan, Ontario. Founded in 1974 as the Navan Grads, the team name changed to the Cumberland Grads in 1989 to be more inclusive of the area they played in, the township of Cumberland. Since then, Cumberland Township has been amalgamated by the City of Ottawa.

THE PROJECT

In 2017, the team announced that they would be returning to the Navan Grads name which will feature a full rebrand in order to better represent the town.

THE WEBSITE – Starting with the league’s move to a new website and stats provider, a new website design was in need. Based upon a heavily modified WordPress platform, the website design was created in order to fit guidelines provided by the league and using the team’s new brand identity.

THE PRINT MATERIAL – In addition to a new name and logo, new business cards and game tickets were designed. The business card uses a two-sided design featuring the team’s ‘banner identity’ as continued on the tickets.

THE DIGITAL CONTENT – Alongside the print material was an updated social media content style that featured references to Navan and used the team’s new brand and identity. Posts included game day updates, special events, as well as advertising campaigns.
